NAPS SET 23 OF DECEMBER FOR MASSIVE PROTEST AGAINST NNPCL OVER DISCRIMINATORY POLICY

  Press conference organized by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) to address a pressing issue affecting polytechnic students nationwide. Ladies and gentlemen of the press, esteemed guests, and fellow students, we gather here today to bring your attention to a discriminatory policy perpetuated by NNPC Limited against Higher National Diploma (HND) holders. The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) strongly condemns this policy, which restricts scholarship opportunities to only Bachelor's degree holders. This unjust and unfair practice denies HND holders their rightful place in the workforce, despite their rigorous academic training and valuable skills. We want to state categorically that, the planned protest is inevitable on 23rd December, 2024, and we shall continue until NNPCL reconsider this discriminatory policy and adopt a more inclusive approach that recognizes the value of HND holders.   … Urges New Oba To Extend Hand Of Friendship To All As part of the State’s Government efforts to entrench the importance of traditional institutions and their involvement in governance, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has installed Prince Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State. The installation which took place recently after the unanimous agreement of the ruling houses to select Prince Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom and the directive of the Governor of Lagos, having met all the requirements demanded by the Lagos State Obas and Chiefs Laws. While delivering his keynote address, the Governor encouraged the newly installed Oba to consolidate the qualities and the strength of his royal stool, so that the Isheri-Olofin Kingdom would enjoy the benefit that his reign had to offer them.
