Subsidy Removal: NLC rejects pricing template

  The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the Federal Government to immediately instruct the Nigerian Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) to withdraw the just released pricing template to allow free flow of discussions by the parties. Mr Joe Ajaero, the NLC President, made the call in a statement signed by him and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja. Ajaero said that the new pricing template is vexatious, an ambush and may scuttle its ongoing dialogue with the federal government.   Owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr Rahman Adedoyin, has been sentenced to death by hanging by Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Ojo. Earlier, Justice Ojo declared that Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, where Timothy Adegoke, an OAU postgraduate student was allegedly killed was culpable of murder. After UK ban, Canada approves extension of work permit for spouses of Nigerian students

  The Canadian government on Friday, announced a new policy to speed up the approval of family reunification applications, just a few days after the UK government banned students from Nigeria and other foreign countries on study visas from bringing their families into the country. Announcing the development, Canadian immigration minister, Sean Fraser explained that the new measures were put in place to strengthen family reunification in Canada. PG reported that, The new system will enable spouses, children, and parents of recent immigrants to join their loved ones in Canada faster. The immigration minister noted that the new policy uses advanced analytics and technology to process Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) applications for family members of permanent residents and citizens in 30 days.   Mark Zuckerberg’s social media company, Meta Platforms Inc. has added a new feature to WhatsApp which affords users to edit messages sent within a 15-minute time limit. The Vice Chairman of Agbado Okeodo LCDA in Alimosho Local Government, Hon Ajoke Moromoke Aminat Obe popularly called AMA, was attacked by an armed group at the tail end of the third mainland bridge yesterday around 10 pm, according to her, she was coming from the meeting on the island and was about dropping off a friend along the stretch road when some youth about Four in numbers with several dangerous weapons, knife, cutlasses, and gun accosted her, broke her SUV side mirror and made away with her bag that contains valuables goods, while she sustain several bodily injuries from the attack.
