Breaking: Alimosho LGEA Gets New Education Secretary
The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has announced the appointment of Dr. Aminat Olawumi Ige-Lawal as the new Education Secretary of Alimosho Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), with immediate effect.
The appointment was approved under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, and formally ratified at the Second Statutory Board Meeting of the Board held at the LASUBEB Headquarters, Lagos.
Dr. Aminat Olawumi Ige-Lawal, who is also Her Royal Highness, the wife of the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State, brings to her new role a wealth of administrative experience, professional competence, and a strong background in community-based educational development.
Speaking on the appointments across the state, Dr. Shittu described the decision as a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency, improving school supervision, and ensuring the effective implementation of Lagos State Government education policies at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that strong leadership within the Local Government Education Authorities remains critical to the delivery of quality basic education, particularly in alignment with the technology-driven objectives of the third pillar of the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.
As Education Secretary, Dr. Ige-Lawal will serve as the direct representative of LASUBEB at the grassroots, providing professional leadership, coordinating educational activities, and ensuring strict compliance with approved standards, policies, and operational guidelines across public primary schools within Alimosho LGEA.
Her appointment is widely regarded as a significant boost to basic education administration in Alimosho, given her unique blend of public service leadership and community engagement, positioning her effectively to bridge policy formulation with grassroots implementation.
LASUBEB has expressed confidence that the new Education Secretary will make meaningful contributions toward improving learning outcomes, strengthening institutional accountability, and advancing the vision of a modern, inclusive, and effective basic education system in Lagos State.
