. "Inspiring Inclusion, Empowering Women: A Royal Message from Isheri Olofin Kingdom"

THE CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

In the name of the Almighty, the Giver of life and wisdom, I, HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Dr. Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello, Ilufemiloba Aremo Olofin Ogunfunminire, Olanwa I Olofin V, The Oba of Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Alimosho, Lagos State, extend my royal blessings and heartfelt congratulations to all women across the world, particularly the resilient and industrious women of Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Alimosho, Lagos, Nigeria, and the African continent, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025.

A Celebration of Strength, Resilience, and Impact

Women have always been the pillars of society, playing critical roles in shaping families, communities, and nations. From time immemorial, our mothers, sisters, and daughters have been at the forefront of nurturing homes, driving economic development, and leading societal transformation. Today, we do not just celebrate women; we acknowledge their sacrifices, recognize their struggles, and honor their unwavering contributions to humanity.

As a kingdom deeply rooted in tradition yet progressive in outlook, we take pride in the indispensable role of women in preserving our cultural heritage, fostering peace, and spearheading development. The women of Isheri Olofin Kingdom and beyond have continued to demonstrate courage, wisdom, and strength, breaking barriers in leadership, business, education, technology, and various other fields.

The Call for Inclusion and Empowerment

The theme for this year’s celebration, "Inspire Inclusion," is not only timely but also a call to action for every stakeholder in society. It emphasizes the need for gender equality and the empowerment of women at all levels of leadership and development. Inclusion is not a privilege; it is a fundamental right. Women deserve equal opportunities to thrive, contribute, and lead in various sectors.

In this regard, I call on governments, traditional institutions, corporate organizations, and civil society to:

1. Promote girl-child education – Every girl should have access to quality education, as this is the foundation for societal progress.

2. Support women’s economic empowerment – Women should have access to financial resources, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurial opportunities to build sustainable businesses.

3. Encourage female leadership and political participation – Women must be represented in decision-making positions to contribute meaningfully to governance and policy formulation.

4. End gender-based violence and discrimination – No woman should suffer injustice, oppression, or violence due to her gender.

Commitment from the Palace of Isheri Olofin Kingdom

As Kabiyesi, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift women within my kingdom and beyond. Through various community-driven programs, we shall continue to:

  • Facilitate skills acquisition programs for women to promote financial independence.
  • Advocate for scholarships and educational support for the girl child.
  • Partner with relevant organizations to protect women’s rights and well-being.
  • Encourage more women to take leadership roles within the kingdom and beyond.

A Royal Charge to Women

To the women of Isheri Olofin Kingdom and the world at large, I urge you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of excellence. Continue to lead, nurture, innovate, and inspire. You are the heartbeat of society, the foundation of strong families, and the architects of a better future. Let no obstacle deter you from achieving greatness.

As we celebrate today, let us remember that the fight for women’s rights and empowerment must be continuous. Together, we must build a society where every woman is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.

May the Almighty continue to bless and uplift the women of Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.

Long live the women of Isheri Olofin Kingdom!
